Bridges on the Wall: The Story Behind the Photos

Everything in life has a purpose, even the simple and mundane. The other day a customer at our restaurant asked us about the pictures on the wall. They were intrigued that we had pictures of bridges — these aren't typical pictures you'd find in an Indian restaurant. We explained on the spot, but then we realized we should put the story somewhere everyone can find it.

The bridges on our walls

For folks who don't know: our restaurant has pictures of Folsom bridges. Simple a decision as that may sound, it wasn't easy to arrive at. We had to come up with something that meant what we stand for.

We stand for harmony between the old and the new, the ancient with the modern — and hence the tagline "new age Indian." It also meant building a bridge between Indian culture and American culture. And so Folsom bridges seemed apt.

The bridges on our walls aren't decor. They're our tagline in physical form.

The photographer

While researching bridges we found some beautiful pictures of Folsom's bridges taken by a Folsom resident, Mark Spicer. We reached out, got his permission, and put the pictures inside our restaurant.

So there you have it — a bit of our history, and a bit of the thought process behind everything we do.
